Always a lover of animals, I first became involved with CCI
through participation in their fundraiser dog walks. When I
watched the Puppy Raisers at work I decided then and there that
someday I would like to do that also. The opportunity
soon came with the untimely death of my Golden Retriever,
Boomer. I began as a volunteer Puppy Sitter, but have since
been a Puppy Raiser for four wonderful CCI dogs and we are
eagerly anticipating the arrival of Puppy #5 in May of 2004.

Sela's loving and
gentle temperament proved to be her big asset and she was place in
Iowa as a Facility Dog working with grieving children and their
families. |
|
Lanza's strength and
determination kept him on course so that he became a Service Dog,
able to provide mobility and companionship in his present placement
in North Carolina. |

Remo mastered his
required commands with ease, but was released because of his alarm
barking during Advanced Training. He is now our beloved pet and we
are channeling his enthusiasm and energy with agility training. |
|
Captain gave us high
hopes because of his great devotion and intelligence, but he
unexpectedly experienced stress at the vet's early in his Advanced
Training and was released. He returned to Minnesota where, as you
can see, he easily worked his way into the hearts of a loving
family. |

Bracie, our current
puppy-in-training arrived on May 24, 2004. A 14 pound ball of fur,
she is already learning to "sit", "shake" and "down" by my side at
the dinner table. Happy to engage in vigorous play with Remo, she
settles quickly when asked - a good quality for a potential CCI dog. |
