How You Can Help Make a Difference

It is the dedication of CCI volunteers and the generosity of CCI donors that make our remarkable program possible. Visit the following pages for more information about helping CCI. You can also contact the CCI office nearest you, or call the National Headquarters toll-free at 1-866-CCI-DOGS (224-3647).

Help CCI with Contributions. Donations can be mailed directly to any of CCI's locations or charged over the phone by credit card by calling 1-866-CCI-DOGS. (Canine Companions for Independence is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, and contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent
of the law.

Learn about Workplace Giving and Corporate Sponsorship. Federal employees support Canine Companions for Independence with donations made through the Combined Federal Campaign. Private sector donors contribute through donor-designated contributions in workplace giving drives such as United Way. Click here for a list of employers with matching programs.

Charitable Estate Planning. Need to write or review a will or living trust? Interested in the tax and income benefits to you and your family from charitable gift planning? Click here to go to our Planned Giving page for information on estate planning and planned giving that can help both you and CCI. Membership in CCI's Heritage Society, a special Heritage Society bulletin, and invitations to distinctive events are benefits received by those who choose to name Canine Companions for Independence in their wills or in other estate planning vehicles. Bob Henning can discuss the planned giving and estate planning choices available, and you are welcome to call him at 707-577-1789.

Take advantage of excellent Volunteer Opportunities at CCI. We welcome all levels of involvement. Volunteers can participate in special events, dog walking, puppy socializing, office work, and many other helpful activities. There are even volunteer opportunities for those living out of reach of one of our regional centers.

Become part of CCI's exciting Puppy Raising Program. CCI puppy raisers open their homes and hearts to future Canine Companions, raising puppies for a year before returning them to CCI's training center for advanced training.

Learn about Service Clubs such as the Lions Project for CCI and the General Federation for Women's Clubs that have been devoted supporters of CCI and would welcome your participation.

Share CCI with others!  This is one of the most helpful things you can do for CCI. If you are aware of family, friends, clubs or organizations that might be interested in CCI's services or interested in volunteer opportunities, we hope you will share your knowledge and direct them to us.
